Get ready fans, the Alien franchise is getting super scary and super cool! Noah Hawley, the director known for Fargo, is working on a new Alien TV show for FX called Alien: Earth. It takes place about 30 years before the first movie and brings the nasty aliens called Xenomorphs to our planet.
They just finished filming and it sounds awesome. Hawley said in an interview that they “just wrapped production” which means they’re done shooting all the episodes. Now comes the fun part where they add all the crazy alien effects. Hawley was really excited to start working on that part too.
The show is all about the scary company called Weyland-Yutani that’s always trying to capture aliens. There’s a main character named Wendy who is part human and part robot. She gets mixed up with Weyland-Yutani’s plans to study aliens and create new lifeforms. Sounds like trouble!
The cast includes some big name actors like Timothy Olyphant from Justified. They’ll be joined by Alex Lawther, Essie Davis and more. With this crew, the characters are sure to be really compelling and complex.
Something cool – Hawley isn’t following the recent Alien prequel movies exactly. He wants creative freedom to go in his own direction with the story. FX loves the show so much they asked Hawley to start planning two seasons right away instead of just one. Fingers crossed it gets renewed!
As Alien: Earth enters the post-production phase, fans can’t wait to see what Hawley does with the beloved franchise. Will we finally learn where the Xenomorphs came from? How they connect to humans? Tune in soon to find out! In the meantime, mark your calendars for August 16th when the new Alien movie Alien: Romulus premieres in theaters. Between the TV show and new film, the alien adventures are just getting started!
