While promoting the upcoming Marvel blockbuster Captain America: Brave New World, star Anthony Mackie may have unintentionally spilled a significant plot detail during a recent interview. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly alongside co-star Harrison Ford, Mackie’s comments regarding the Hulk franchise have diehard fans speculating about a potential crossover cameo.
During the conversation, Ford jokingly asked Mackie about “Red Hulk” appearing in their film. But Mackie’s response appeared to take their lighthearted exchange in a surprising direction. “There are multiple Hulks,” Mackie explained, noting one in particular shows up in Brave New World. When Ford seemed caught off guard by the revelation of multiple Hulks, Mackie assured him, “There’s only one Red Hulk.”

Fans are no strangers to stars like Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland accidentally revealing major plot points during press interviews. And given Mackie’s quotes hinting at the inclusion of another Hulk, in addition to footage from the trailer that shows Captain America facing off against the formidable Red Hulk, viewers believe Bruce Banner himself may transform to aid Sam Wilson.
While nothing has been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, enthusiasts have taken to social media to analyze every word of Mackie’s interview. With the film still months away, fans will be keeping a close eye out for any further clues or announcements regarding additional cameos and crossovers as more promotional materials are released leading up to the highly anticipated May debut.
Whether Mackie intentionally teased fans or unintentionally spilled key details remains to be seen. But his comments have ignited speculation and added extra buzz around next year’s superhero blockbuster event.
