Good news for Constantine fans! Keanu Reeves, the star of the original 2005 movie, recently gave us some hope about a possible sequel.
When Keanu was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he opened up about Constantine 2. He said things are really moving forward with the project after years of maybes. “It went from ‘no’ to ‘maybe’ and now it’s more of a ‘kinda yes’,” Keanu told Colbert.
The best part is they have a script in the works right now. This means Constantine 2 isn’t just an idea anymore – it’s actually in development! That’s pretty cool since the first movie had mixed reviews and it’s been a long time since 2005.
In Constantine, Keanu plays John Constantine. He’s a detective who can see and talk to half-angels and half-demons. Even though some critics didn’t like it, the movie has a big fan base today. Fans have been asking for a sequel for years.
Movie expert Sarah Chen thinks Keanu’s success with movies like The Matrix and John Wick made studios want to revisit Constantine. “Keanu is super popular now so a sequel could be really big,” she says.
Of course, there’s still a lot to happen before we actually get Constantine 2. They have to make sure the script is great, budget issues have to work out, and schedules have to line up.
