Warner Bros. Games just made a big announcement – they acquired the video game studio behind one of the most popular new games around, MultiVersus. Player First Games, the developers of MultiVersus, will now be part of the Warner Bros. family.
This move makes sense because Warner Bros. already worked closely with Player First Games to create MultiVersus. Now that the game is really taking off, Warner Bros. wants to keep supporting it. David Haddad, the president of Warner Bros. Games, said bringing Player First Games on board will help their team make even more great games using characters from movies and TV shows.
The timing is interesting too. Right when another Warner Bros. game studio had to let some people go, they added the MultiVersus creators. This has folks wondering what else Warner Bros. has planned for its game division. They must see big things ahead for MultiVersus!
That’s good news because MultiVersus Season 2 is coming July 23rd with fresh new additions. Samurai Jack from the Cartoon Network show will be a playable fighter right away. Later on, you can battle as Beetlejuice from the famous movie that is getting a sequel. There will also be a new stage that looks like the water tower from the Warner Bros. studio lot.
Plus ranked matches are coming for 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 1 modes. This lets players compete and move up in leaderboards to win cool customization rewards. Warner Bros. revealed these updates at the big fighting game tournament EVO, cementing MultiVersus as a serious esport.
By adding Player First Games, it’s clear Warner Bros. is committed to growing MultiVersus for a long time. With their huge library of characters, MultiVersus could become huge! In these tough times for the game industry, it’s good to see a publisher investing in new projects. Fans can’t wait to see what’s next for MultiVersus and Warner Bros. games.
