“The Acolyte” took place in the final days of the High Republic era, before the prequel movies. It focused on new characters and storylines within the Star Wars universe. Many fans felt the show helped them connect more with the franchise by portraying characters they could relate to. Its diverse cast allowed some viewers to see themselves represented on screen for the first time.
