Rumors have surfaced that stars from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise could join upcoming DC Universe films. This speculation started when James Gunn, who directed all three Guardians movies for Marvel Studios and is now co-CEO of DC Studios, hinted at potential crossovers.
When asked online if Guardians stars might appear in DC films, Gunn responded cryptically. His reply, “Well that would be a spoiler wouldn’t it?” left fans wondering. This comes after Gunn was spotted working with Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, on the set of an upcoming Superman movie.
Pratt has expressed openness to joining the DC Universe. He said that if a role made sense with his schedule, “Yes, of course” he would take part. However, Pratt stayed vague on specific characters, noting that fans and Gunn will “have to decide” potential roles. Pratt also said he’s open to reprising Star-Lord if the opportunity came up.
Another Guardians star, Pom Klementieff who played Mantis, said at a comic convention that she has discussed a particular DC character with Gunn. Klementieff wants to keep collaborating with Gunn and hopes they can find a way to make it happen. Gunn’s brother Sean has already been cast in an upcoming DC project as villain Maxwell Lord.
With his experience in both studios, Gunn has expressed willingness to bring over talented actors from Marvel. As the new co-leader of DC Studios, he seems poised to surprise fans with crossovers. As anticipation builds for projects like the upcoming Superman film, observers will watch for more clues about potential appearances by Guardians favorites in the expanding DC Universe.
