Actress Kirsten Dunst delighted movie lovers with a surprise appearance at outdoor film screenings in Los Angeles over the weekend. Cinespia, which hosts film events at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, showed Dunst’s 2000 movies “Bring It On” and “The Virgin Suicides” as part of its summer series.
Before the double feature began, Dunst took the stage to introduce the films to the crowd’s astonishment. She thrilled fans by reciting her famous cheer from “Bring It On.” Dunst told the audience she was “so overwhelmed” to be there and said she hadn’t seen either movie with others in over 20 years.
Videos online show the 42-year-old actress singing and chanting along with her character in “Bring It On” while sitting in the audience. On Instagram, Dunst posted a clip of herself gleefully reciting the cheerleading routine’s opening lines.

The night gave fans a chance to revisit two significant films from when Dunst began her transition into lead roles as a teen. Released the same year, “Bring It On” became a cult hit that spawned sequels, and “The Virgin Suicides” kicked off Dunst’s long collaboration with director Sofia Coppola.
Since then, Dunst has built an impressive resume working with directors like Lars von Trier, Jeff Nichols and Jane Campion. Her role in Campion’s 2021 film “The Power of the Dog” earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. This year she starred in the successful thriller “Civil War.”
Cinespia’s screenings under the stars will continue through September, featuring movies such as “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “The Shining” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” The season concludes with “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” honoring the late Paul Reubens.
Dunst’s appearance not only delighted fans but showed how two decades later, these early 2000s films still resonate and have lasting appeal. As Dunst said, watching them with others again meant a lot and connected her past as a teen star to her current respected career.
