The hit Peacock TV show “Poker Face” has announced additional famous guest stars for its upcoming second season. The crime drama series, created by filmmaker Rian Johnson, follows Natasha Lyonne’s character Charlie Cale as she uses her ability to detect lies to solve mysteries across the United States.
Season one was well-received, earning very positive reviews and multiple Emmy nominations. The new season will feature acclaimed performers Cynthia Erivo, Margo Martindale, and B.J. Novak joining the series.
Erivo is an Oscar-nominated actress known for “Harriet” and “The Outsider.” Martindale has won three Emmy Awards for her supporting roles in shows like “Your Honor.” Novak starred on “The Office” and has been nominated for five Emmys.
Other guest stars this season include Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, Gaby Hoffmann, Kumail Nanjiani, Sherry Cola, Kevin Corrigan, Ben Marshall, and Katherine Narducci. Tony Tost will take over as showrunner from Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. Rian Johnson remains involved as creator, director and executive producer. Natasha Lyonne also directs and serves as an executive producer.
Production on the new season started in July. While the premiere date has not been announced, fans can watch season one now on Peacock. With its blend of mystery, humor and famous actors, “Poker Face” looks to deliver another engaging season for viewers. The addition of talented performers like Erivo, Martindale and Novak shows the series continues attracting top talent in front of and behind the camera.
