Digital news outlet NowThis has assembled an inaugural Advisory Board comprised of Gen Z leaders and influencers. The board includes Alyah Chanelle Scott, an actress known for her roles in “The Sex Lives of College Girls” and “Reboot.” Scott will provide insight into the entertainment industry.
United Talent Agency representative Shaina Zafar and GEN-ZiNE founder Anushka Joshi will offer their expertise in media and social change. TikTok creator Griffin Maxwell Brooks and Karan Jerath from innovation company Squared Circles round out the board.
The formation of this board comes as NowThis expands its slate of original programming. The platform currently airs shows such as “Are You Okay?,” “NowThis Is,” and “Playing Hooky.” Michael Vito Valentino, NowThis’s new Editor-in-Chief, said he is “thrilled to be working alongside this group of accomplished trailblazers.” Valentino noted the board “has their fingers on the pulse of a generation.”
By tapping leaders across entertainment, technology, and media, NowThis aims to better serve Gen Z audiences. The advisory board will provide insights that help NowThis understand this key demographic.
This move signals NowThis’s larger strategy to position itself as a top destination for Gen Z-focused content. With guidance from the board, NowThis anticipates introducing additional original shows in coming months that will resonate with younger viewers.
