The Golden Globe Awards announced the exciting news on Tuesday: the presenters for their 82nd annual ceremony have been revealed. This year’s show looks like it will be a star-studded affair with some of Hollywood’s best performers.
The ceremony will take place live from the Beverly Hilton on Sunday, January 5, 2025. It’s a big deal because actress Nikki Glaser will be the first woman to host the award show by herself in its nearly 80-year history.
Well-known stars like Michelle Yeoh, Andrew Garfield, Demi Moore, and Colman Domingo are on the impressive list of presenters. Elton John and Glenn Close are just two icons who will take the stage. Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Vin Diesel, and well-known television stars Jennifer Coolidge and Catherine O’Hara are expected to make cameo appearances.
At this year’s ceremony, two well-known business veterans will be honored. Ted Danson will receive the Carol Burnett Award for Excellence in Television, and Viola Davis will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award. The award show will also continue to honor cinematic and box office achievements in films and the best performance in stand-up comedy on television, both of which were added last year.
This year, “Emilia Pérez,” which has a record-setting 10 nominations for comedies or musicals, is at the top of the list. This is more than last year’s winner, “Barbie,” which got nine nominations. Seven nominations for “The Brutalist” and six for “Conclave” make them strong candidates. “The Bear” has five nominations in the television category, closely followed by “Only Murders in the Building” and “Shogun,” each with four nominations.
Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner of White Cherry Entertainment will be in charge of producing the ceremony. Dick Clark Productions will handle the planning and production of the show. The Golden Globes will be shown live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. On Paramount+, you will also be able to stream. Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers can watch the live stream through their local CBS affiliate. Essential tier subscribers can watch the show whenever they want the next day.
