CBS has ordered three more seasons of The Bold and the Beautiful, confirming that the daytime series will remain on air through its 41st season during the 2027–28 broadcast year.
The renewal places the long-running soap on the same schedule as CBS’s other daytime drama, The Young and the Restless, which is currently in the first year of a four-season commitment set to run through 2028. The network has not announced a decision regarding Beyond the Gates, a freshman series that premiered in February and has drawn attention as the first daytime drama in decades to feature Black lead characters.
Airing since March 23, 1987, The Bold and the Beautiful marked its 38th anniversary this year. CBS reports an average audience of about 3.2 million viewers per week when combining live broadcast, streaming, and delayed viewing. While the network does not provide a detailed breakdown between linear and digital platforms, it has confirmed that streaming viewership on Paramount+ is up by 8 percent compared to the previous season.
The show is set in Los Angeles and focuses on the Forrester, Logan, and Spencer families. CBS describes the setting as revolving around personal and professional conflict within the fashion world, particularly around the Forrester family’s business, Forrester Creations.
The series is produced by Bell-Phillip Television. Bradley Bell serves as executive producer and head writer.
Returning cast members include original leads John McCook and Katherine Kelly Lang. The current ensemble also features Matthew Atkinson, Kimberlin Brown, Rebecca Budig, Scott Clifton, Delon de Metz, Don Diamont, Sean Kanan, Thorsten Kaye, Annika Noelle, Tanner Novlan, Lawrence Saint-Victor, Heather Tom, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, and others. CBS has listed several newer and recurring performers as part of the show’s recent lineup.
