Nintendo Buys Japanese Animation Studio Dynamo Pictures

Dynamo Pictures, a Japanese animation studio, will be renamed Nintendo Pictures once the acquisition is complete.

Nintedo Buys Dynamo Studio

Earlier this year, Nintendo claimed that it did not plan to buy studios like other manufacturers, and yet it has acquired SRD, a company that has been working alongside it for a very long time. And it is following suit with Dynamo Pictures, specialized in animation.

From Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden, Evangelion, Metroid: Other M, Pikmin, Death Stranding, Onihei and Yuri! On Ice, Dynamo Pictures has an outstanding resume in terms of animation, whether it be in the video game, film or series worlds.

The company will be 100% owned by Nintendo when the acquisition is completed, which should be on October 3, and will be renamed Nintendo Pictures, with the goal of producing visual content for the Japanese giant.

In the future, we should see the name Nintendo Pictures in the credits of video games with cinematics, as well as in movies, as the manufacturer is more and more involved in this field, particularly with the Super Mario Bros. movie, which is expected to hit the big screen next April.

As for SRD, Nintendo is making sure to keep good relationships with its long-time partners, by making them its own.
