Daedalic Entertainment and NACON would like to thank all players for their patience and support so far. Over the past few years, the team has worked hard to share their vision of an extraordinary story set in a breathtaking world filled with magic and wonder. We are determined to meet the expectations of our community and uncover the untold story of Gollum in a way that honors J.R.R. Tolkien’s vision.

Therefore, in order to ensure the best possible experience, the developer, in cooperation with the publisher, is pushing back the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by several months. We will update you on the exact dates in the near future. Daedalic and NACON are grateful for the passionate community and look forward to sharing this unique adventure with them soon.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum project is a game based on J.R.R Tolkien’s legendary Lord of The Rings trilogy. The storyline of the game tells the previously untold story of one of the novel’s most popular characters – Gollum.

Having lost his treasure to Bilbo Baggins, Gollum chooses to leave the Misty Mountains and travel on a dangerous journey leading from the dungeons of Barad-dûr to the Kingdom of the Forest Elves in the Dark Forest.

In order to survive the dangerous journey through Middle-earth, Gollum has to use his cunning, sneaking between enemies. The character must also face his Hobbit elemental, Sméagol.

Whether Gollum or Sméagol will make the decisions will be up to the players. On his journey, Gollum will face characters familiar from J.R.R Tolkien’s novels, along with new, non-canonical characters.

Developed by Daedalic Entertainment in partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be co-published by Daedalic Entertainment and NACON. It will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

The game will be available in a boxed version for console players. Owners of the Nintendo Switch will be able to get their hands on the title at a slightly later date.
