For several days, the first two episodes of the series Lord of the Rings: the Rings of Power have been airing on the Amazon Prime platform. In line with expectations, the production was met with very mixed reviews. There was even a situation where Amazon representatives turned off temporarily the possibility of rating their new series.

But while fans of Tolkien’s work wait for the screening of the third episode, the showrunner of the series has very exciting news for the fans. In an interview with RadioTimes, J.D. Payne has revealed that the production crew and cast will be back on set soon. This is because the start of shooting for the second season of Rings of Power is approaching quickly.

“We have already created the scripts. We are a few weeks away from starting work,” – stated the showrunner.

With preparations for work on the next season of episodes already underway, it appears that Amazon is not concerned about the arising wave of criticism. The series is likely to be hugely popular with subscribers from all over the world, notwithstanding the negative reviews.

We would like to remind you, by the way, that there were plans for at least a couple of seasons already two years ago. This information was given when the streaming giant put up hundreds of millions of dollars for the project.

The Lord of the Rings: the Rings of Power brings the action for the first time to the legendary times of the Second Age of Middle-earth. The plot of this extraordinary series is set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

Viewers will be treated to a journey through kingdoms that rose to the top, only to reach the bottom later. Also appearing will be the great heroes and the most mighty representatives of evil that have ever come out of Tolkien’s pen.

The story begins in a time of peace. Completely new and already known heroes have emerged and will face the terrors of Middle-earth. Starting from the nooks and crannies of the Misty Mountains, to the amazing forests of the Elven capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking royal island of Númenor, all the way to the edge of the map. It is the story of heroes who will never be otherwise forgotten.

Starring in the series are Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Maxim Baldry, Ian Blackburn, Kip Chapman, Anthony Crum, Maxine Cunliffe, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Thusitha Jayasundera and Fabian McCallum.

The showrunner of the Lord of the Rings: the Rings of Power are J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. Currently, two episodes of the show are available on the Amazon Prime platform. More episodes will be released at weekly intervals.
