A fundraising campaign has started on Kickstarter for survival horror game Hollowbody, which draws inspiration from Silent Hill 2 and the other classic representatives of the genre from the early 2000s.
The independent developer, Nathan Hamley, had been previously responsible for the successful Chasing Static or Guard Duty, both of which had strong ratings on Steam.
This new project already appears much more ambitious, with even the visuals stylized exactly on previous generations’ productions.
Our character – Mica – crashes in a Hollowbody in a deserted British town, which, after the “collapse”, is surrounded by a wall and transformed into a closed zone.
Players will have to survive by skillfully managing available resources, discovering the surroundings and dealing with monsters.
We will observe the action in a first-person perspective, with the developer opting for a combination of dynamic camera work and predetermined shots, as in the past. There are also logic puzzles to solve, a number of endings and full voice acting.
Provided a humble £15,000 can be raised, Hamley is assuming a release in early 2024, providing 2-3 hours of gameplay.
