Sony to team up with Korean studio

Sony is reportedly looking to expand the Horizon brand even further. With the successful Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, and the forthcoming “Horizon 2074” series, the Japanese have apparently entered into a partnership with Ncsoft to develop yet another game.

Korean news outlet MTN has reported that “NCsoft is creating a new game using Sony’s flagship IP, Horizon.” The Japanese are said to have teamed up to ensure a major production.

Ncsoft is expected to use its core in-house team to develop Horizon MMO as its developers have extensive experience in the MMORPG genre, having continued to develop the Lineage brand. Simultaneously, the company has started hiring new specialists to work on Sony’s title.

It has been approved that the ‘H’ seed development team under Lineage IP Business Headquarters is working on the new ‘Horizon’ IP under NCsoft. H Seed is now recruiting developers to participate in the project through job advertisements.

Because the partnership with Sony has not yet been confirmed as ‘official,’ the job ads are being posted as ‘Project H developer recruitment.’

“Seed,” is a business unit attached to the development team in the early stages of production, as per the information released. As the game moves on to the next stages, it is handed off to the next developers.

There is much to suggest that Sony is now planning at least three new games related to this IP – Horizon Online from Guerrilla Games (a Monster Hunter-like title), Horizon Remaster and Horizon MMO.

Embark on a Voxel-Style Arcade Adventure: “Set sail for action in the vibrant oceans of ‘Battle Stations Blockade.’ Explore our Battle Stations Blockade game review to discover how this voxel-style arcade shooter offers a unique blend of run-and-gun gameplay, where you man battleship turrets against a variety of enemies.”
