Starfield To Put a Lot of Emphasis on Choices in Missions

The best solution is not always going to be an easy one.

Is Starfield the most anticipated production of next year? Well, that’s hard to say unequivocally – it is certainly among those that most people are looking forward to.

The boisterously announced project from Bethesda Entertainment is expected to be a breakthrough in the sci-fi genre and provide us with a space adventure like we haven’t encountered before. And developers have proven more than once that they are worth trusting.

And if you have ever been in contact with the studio’s productions, then you are certainly aware of the importance of missions there.

This will be no different in this case, which was confirmed by the chief designer of this element, Will Shen. When asked about this issue in a recent interview, he spoke a bit about how Bethesda intends to draw on its roots in an attempt to deliver the best possible experience:

Choice is always a big deal. Both the choices that players will make, but also the choices that characters and the world can make in response. So when I write something up, I usually write everything down: “OK, the player just did X, how would their allies and enemies react? What is the best move they could make? If they can’t make that move, why not?”

There’s always some better option you might miss, but if it makes sense at least from a gameplay perspective, I hope you feel the story responds to your actions.

From Will’s words, it can be read that choices will matter quite a bit here, and maybe that will influence the desire to revisit the game, beginning all over again.

All here will probably be a question of how much of a real impact our decisions have on the storyline and, consequently obvious, the ending. We will probably find out for ourselves only after the release. It is worth the wait.
