PlayStation State of Play Set for Early 2023, New Rumors Say

A new year begins and the rumors about PlayStation State of Play, official presentation events organized by Sony that usually emerge somewhat of a surprise, immediately start up again. Sometimes, we can predict the scheduled launch periods based on some rumors.

As reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, these rumors come from Reddit and 4chan, which are two sources that cannot be considered properly 100 percent reliable, but the reports might make some logical sense, at least, reporting alleged periods for the State of Play that might be plausible.

In essence, these rumors suggest that the next State of Play would be scheduled between February and March 2023, with one more event planned around May.

As a reminder, last such presentation was the State of Play in September 2022, during which a number of interesting titles were shown such as Rise of the Ronin by Team Ninja, Stellar Blade, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Tekken 8, as well as a new video on Hogwarts Legacy, amongst others.

Actually, the first period reported might make some sense, given that it is a particularly auspicious time to announce new things coming during 2023 on PS5 and PS4, though we are rather inclined to believe that there may also be an event specifically dedicated to Hogwarts Legacy shortly before its release on February 10, 2023, according to the strong partnership between Sony and the game in question.

Yet another presentation in the May-June timeframe is indeed another likely possibility, maybe even with a larger presentation such as a PlayStation Showcase, given that such a format has been missing from the scenes for several months now and the company will have to present, at some point, several projects that are underway at its internal teams.

In any event, we repeat that these are only absolutely unverified rumors, therefore to be taken as speculation or little more.
