Larian Studios' popular cRPG is not exclusive to PlayStation 5, and an Xbox version is in the works. ‌

Baldur's Gate 3

Larian Studios, the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3, have put an end to the rumors that their game is exclusive to PlayStation 5. In fact, they have announced that they are working on a version for Xbox Series X/S as well.

However, this version will not be officially announced until some technical issues are resolved. The announcement of Baldur’s Gate 3’s release on PlayStation 5 in Sony’s latest State of Play sparked rumors of exclusivity on Sony’s current generation platform.

However, Larian Studios’ community manager has clarified on Reddit that there is no platform exclusivity that prohibits them from releasing the game on Xbox.

“We’ve been working on an Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been around for a while now, but we’ve been running into some technical issues, particularly with split-screen co-op,” the community manager said. “We’re still working on the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3, but we’re not confident enough to announce it yet.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 was released in Early Access format on Steam in October 2020, and the final version will be available on August 31 for PC and PlayStation 5.

Larian Studios wants to ensure that any new platforms meet their standards and expectations before announcing them, and they appreciate their fans’ understanding.

This is a very exciting news for Xbox fans! Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to your console soon. Stay tuned for updates from Larian Studios.
