In an interview with Collider, he disclosed when filming will commence for the highly-anticipated season.

Despite being shrouded in mystery, fans can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that season 5 of Stranger Things will officially begin production in June 2023. Harbour shared that he has a few months left to prepare for filming and get back into character as Hopper.

Harbour also divulged that his character will be returning to his roots. After being imprisoned in Russia for an extended period, Hopper was shown in a different light in season 4.

The aim was to explore different aspects of the character, both physically and emotionally. However, in season 5, Hopper is back in the United States, and according to Harbour, he is going to be “well fed” with cheeseburgers.

Although the Duffer brothers originally intended to keep up with the annual release rate, the pandemic and the show’s increased budget have caused production times to extend.
