Indiana Jones and the Artifact of Destiny, the fifth installment in the Indiana Jones series, is set to make history as the longest adventure yet. At the Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm unveiled a new trailer and poster for the highly anticipated film, which was met with great excitement from fans.

During the main announcement panel, Kathleen Kennedy, the head of the studio, was asked by Collider about the duration of the film.

Kennedy revealed that the upcoming adventure of the renowned archaeologist will run approximately 2 hours and 22-23 minutes, making it the longest film in the franchise’s history. The previous record holder was Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, which had a runtime of 2 hours and 7 minutes.

Compared to the previous installments, the fourth film, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, lasted 2 hours and 2 minutes, while Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom were both under two hours, at 1 hour and 55 minutes and 1 hour and 58 minutes, respectively.

Kennedy noted that the earlier montage of the film was shorter, at under 2 hours and 15 minutes, but the team decided to extend it to the current runtime.

“We talked a lot about it,” she said, “The reason it’s interesting is because long stories are something we’ve come to like in the streaming space. So I think it’s a natural progression that we bring it to the cinema. Lately, there have been a lot of movies that are over 3 hours long, and I didn’t feel the length of them at all.”

Fans of the Indiana Jones franchise can expect an epic adventure with more action, intrigue, and suspense than ever before.

The longer runtime will allow for a more extensive and immersive story that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
