Yesterday marked the official launch of the highly anticipated ‘Fast and Furious 10’. Vin Diesel, the face of the franchise, graced the event and surprised the audience with an intriguing revelation in an interview with Fandango.

It appears that Universal Pictures, after watching the latest installment, proposed extending the series to include a twelfth film. Initially, the plans were focused on a two-part finale. However, this seems to be evolving into a three-part closing act.

The Possibility of a Trilogy Finale

As plans for the latest film were being developed, Universal Pictures initially proposed a two-part movie. However, after getting a glimpse of ‘Fast and Furious 10’, they posed an intriguing question, “Could the finale be a trilogy?”

When probed further about the potential of another film in the main franchise, Vin Diesel chose to cut short the interview, jesting, “You’re going to get me in trouble.”

Fans and followers might need to exhibit patience for an official confirmation, as the team is presently basking in the successful release of the tenth installment, while preparations for the eleventh are underway. It is important to note that Louis Leterrier, the director of the tenth part, will helm ‘Fast and Furious 11.’

Spoiler Alert! A Surprise Return in Fast and Furious 10

The premiere also confirmed an unexpected turn of events: Dwayne Johnson, known as ‘The Rock’, is making a comeback to the franchise. Despite a past feud with Vin Diesel, which has since been resolved, Johnson had previously stated he had no plans to return to the series.

However, those who have watched ‘Fast and Furious 10′ have reported that Johnson makes a surprise appearance in the post-credits scene.

Details regarding Luke Hobbs’ (Dwayne Johnson’s character) return have been kept under wraps. Nevertheless, his cameo in the post-credits scene hints at a more significant role in the upcoming eleventh installment. There’s also a possibility of his involvement in the potential twelfth film, if Vin Diesel’s comments are indeed verified by the studio.

A Quick Recap

It’s worth noting that in November 2021, Diesel had publicly requested Johnson’s return to ‘Fast and Furious.’ Johnson, however, had consistently stated in various interviews that there was no chance of him returning.

Rumors suggest that the actor may have reconsidered his stance following the underperformance of ‘Black Adam’ and his character’s exclusion from future developments in the DC universe.

As a reminder, the theatrical release of ‘Fast and Furious 10’ is set for May 19th. The unexpected revelations and the potential for more thrills and spills in the ‘Fast and Furious’ saga have undoubtedly added to the excitement of the franchise’s ardent followers.
