Excitement is building as Ubisoft’s forthcoming Assassin’s Creed installment, Codename Red, gears up for its anticipated release in 2024. While an official release date is yet to be confirmed, a recent LinkedIn post by a Ubisoft marketing employee dubbed the game as “the biggest blockbuster.” Although the post has since been edited to remove the reference to 2024, the enthusiasm surrounding Codename Red continues to grow.

Among the various Assassin’s Creed projects currently in development at Ubisoft, Codename Red stands out as an especially intriguing entry. Serving as the successor to a series of expansions, spin-offs, and the recent Assassin’s Creed Mirage, this game marks a return to a blockbuster-sized experience. The previous installment of similar scale, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, captured audiences’ attention in 2020.

From the Makers of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Ubisoft Quebec, the studio behind the highly acclaimed Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and the enjoyable Assassin’s Creed Syndicate set in London, leads the development of Codename Red. With a track record of creating immersive and engaging gameplay experiences, expectations are high for their latest venture. Fans eagerly await the studio’s interpretation of the rich and captivating world of feudal Japan.

Codename Red is expected to signal a fresh era for the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Ubisoft plans to separate the modern-day narrative from individual games and present it through an overarching hub platform known as Assassin’s Creed Infinity. This innovative approach aims to unite the brand’s diverse range of games, providing players with a cohesive and interconnected experience.

A Thrilling Journey through Feudal Japan

Set in the mesmerizing backdrop of feudal Japan, Codename Red invites players to step into the role of an Assassin. With the promise of an immersive and authentic experience, the game will transport players to a time of samurai, shoguns, and ancient traditions. Exploring this visually stunning and historically rich setting is sure to captivate fans of the series and history enthusiasts alike.

Although Codename Red’s official release date remains unknown, earlier reports aligned with the 2024 timeframe. Additionally, industry rumors indicate a return of the series’ multiplayer component in 2025, while the enigmatic Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is tentatively scheduled for 2026.

Fans eagerly await further updates and announcements from Ubisoft as they prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey through time and culture in Assassin’s Creed Codename Red.
