Recently, a GTA 6 enthusiast leaked some information, and it didn’t go unnoticed by Rockstar, the game’s developer. On September 9, this Twitter user shared what they claimed was a sneak peek of GTA 6’s map.
Rockstar swiftly responded by issuing a copyright claim against the leaked image, causing it to disappear from the internet. But here’s where it gets interesting: they forgot about a second screenshot in the same tweet.
It’s a bit of an odd situation. We can’t say for sure why Rockstar overlooked the second image. The most logical explanation would be if that particular screenshot isn’t from GTA 6 at all. Unfortunately, we have no way to confirm this theory. The fact that Rockstar took action with a copyright claim suggests that the leaked material could indeed be genuine.

It’s essential to remember that what we’re seeing is an unfinished version of GTA 6. The blurry buildings and environments won’t stay that way in the final release. Also, we lack information about when these leaked images were taken. They could be from anywhere between three days and three years ago.
This isn’t the first time GTA 6 has been the subject of leaks. Last year, more than 90 images and videos surfaced online, supposedly revealing various aspects of the game. The CEO of Rockstar’s parent company expressed disappointment over these leaks but assured fans that the game’s development wouldn’t be affected.
Hints of a Near Release
On another note, Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar, has hinted that GTA 6 might launch before March 2025. This news brings hope to GTA 6 fans worldwide, who have been eagerly waiting for the game for quite some time. The end of the long wait might be on the horizon.
