In a recent announcement, Ubisoft revealed that the highly anticipated free-to-play shooter, XDefiant, is facing another delay due to “inconsistencies in the game experience.”
These issues were identified during the game’s Public Test Session, held on September 28th, aimed at assessing the performance of the game’s public servers.
Ubisoft stated, “We’ve made the hard decision to delay the Preseason of XDefiant,” as they strive to address the gameplay problems that have surfaced. Executive producer Mark Rubin provided further insight in a statement posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

He highlighted that feedback from the Public Test Session had pinpointed issues with the game’s movement mechanics, which were attributed to frame spikes.
As of now, Ubisoft has not specified a revised release date for XDefiant but has assured fans that they will “share more information about Preseason and testing as it comes.” This latest delay follows a series of setbacks for the game, which was initially slated for a summer release this year.

However, it was later postponed to a “likely” October launch due to certification issues on consoles, leaving gamers eagerly anticipating its eventual arrival.
