In the world of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the character Kieran from the Indigo Disk DLC has amazed players with his uncanny ability to discern real Pokémon from imposters, particularly in his interactions with the Legendary Pokémon, Ogerpon. This revelation has sparked discussions and theories within the Pokémon community, especially after a specific encounter detailed in a Reddit post.

Kieran, initially introduced in the Teal Mask DLC and further developed in the Indigo Disk DLC, has been a subject of intrigue and suspicion due to his obsession with Ogerpon. His journey culminates at Blueberry Academy, where he becomes a formidable opponent, using a team of powerful Pokémon including Hydrapple.

However, the most striking aspect of Kieran’s character is revealed during battles involving Ogerpon. Players observed an interesting phenomenon: Kieran reacts dramatically when the real Ogerpon is brought into battle, exclaiming in surprise and anger. This contrasts sharply with his non-reaction when faced with a Zoroark disguised as Ogerpon, as highlighted in the Reddit post by ‘KillJoy-Player’.

The Community’s Reaction and Theories

So Kieran doesn’t react to an Ogerpon impostor (Zoroark on this case)

This detail has led to numerous discussions among players. One trainer experimented by using two Zoruas, one Hisuian and one Unova, both impersonating Ogerpon, and observed that Kieran only reacted when the actual Ogerpon appeared. This led to speculations about Kieran’s ability to discern real Pokémon from illusions, a skill deemed superhuman by fans.

Players have theorized about the nature of this ability, with some suggesting that Kieran’s lifelong obsession with Ogerpon has granted him this unique skill.

Others have proposed various in-game mechanics that might explain this phenomenon, but no definitive explanation has been agreed upon.

Kieran’s intriguing character and his unique interactions with Ogerpon have made him a memorable part of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet experience. As the game progresses, particularly towards the end of the Blueberry journey, Kieran’s role remains pivotal. Fans are speculating whether he will play a significant part in the upcoming Kitakami Epilogue, given his deep connection to the lore and the mysteries surrounding his character.
