Glen Powell, the star of movies like “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Anyone But You,” has a new best friend tagging along during his latest film promotions – an itty bitty pup named Brisket! This tiny terrier mix has stolen hearts everywhere and become Powell’s little sidekick.
Powell adopted Brisket last summer while filming “Twisters” in Oklahoma. He recently told Entertainment Weekly that he was going through a tough breakup at the time. “I was feeling lonely in little Enid, Oklahoma,” Powell said. “I just really wanted someone to keep me company.” We can guess he was referring to splitting with model Gigi Paris back in April.
Getting Brisket wasn’t easy either. Powell sent the rescue group Labelle Foundation a sad video about why he needed a puppy. Luckily, they said yes to little 1.5 pound Brisket. “He became like the movie’s mascot,” Powell smiled. “He would sleep in my chair every day on set.”
Now Brisket comes along to all of Powell’s “Twisters” interviews and appearances. His Instagram called “Hot Brisket” already has 65,000 followers seeing cute photos of him. Some people joke that Brisket is the real star, not Powell! Wherever they go together promotes the movie but also spreads lots of heartwarming joy.
As “Twisters” keeps doing well, it’s clear Brisket is more than a pet to Powell. He’s a true pal who’s always by his side, especially during tough times in Hollywood. Their friendship shows that a little furry friend can make any place feel more like home.
