Get excited, Dexter fans! Showtime just announced that their super popular crime show Dexter is returning with not one, but two new shows. And the best part? Michael C. Hall is reprising his role as the one and only Dexter Morgan.
At a big panel at Comic-Con this summer, Showtime revealed that Dexter: Resurrection is coming our way in 2025. This time, the sequel picks up right where the last season left off. We’ll get to see what Dexter has been up to since faking his death in New Blood.
Hall sent the crowd wild when he joined the panel in person. “We couldn’t be happier to have Michael back in the role he was born to play,” said one of the show’s producers. You just know Dexter is going to find new ways to get himself into trouble!
But that’s not all – Hall is also lending his voice to an earlier Dexter story with Dexter: Original Sin. This prequel series airs next Christmas and takes us back to 1991. We’ll meet a teenage Dexter as he’s first discovering his, uh, unique talents. Christian Slater steps into the role of Harry Morgan to guide young Dexter.
Original Sin promises to give insight into how Dexter developed his code of only killing bad guys. It should be pretty cool to see him in his early days of tracking criminals in Miami. The cast also includes some big names like Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey.
So whether you’ve been a Dexter fan from day one or just getting into the shows, get ready for some seriously suspenseful stories. With Michael C. Hall at the center of it again, these new chapters are sure to captivate audiences. I can’t wait to see what demented adventures lurk around the corner for TV’s favorite serial killer!
