Have you heard the big news? Psylocke is getting her very own comic book series! They announced it at Comic-Con a few weeks ago. Psylocke has always been a super cool character, and now us fans will get to learn even more about her epic story.
The series is going to focus on Kwannon, who used to share a body with Betsy Braddock but is now her own hero. Kwannon is going to go on some really dangerous missions, the kind that are too risky even for the whole X-Men team. I can’t wait to find out what kinds of enemies she’ll face and how she manages to beat the odds on her own.
They said the comic is really going to dive into Kwannon’s past too. We’ll learn more about her tough training with the Hand ninjas. The Hand are a super scary group, so it will be wild to see how Kwannon turned out the way she did after that.
The description for the first issue sounds so intense! It says Kwannon “was made for violence” but chose to be an X-Man instead. But sometimes even the X-Men have missions that are too dirty, so she’ll have to go solo. I’m already at the edge of my seat wondering what kind of problems she’s going to face alone.
It looks like the comic is also bringing back Greycrow, who used to date Kwannon. I bet having him around will make the action scenes even more dramatic. They’ll definitely have their work cut out for them against enemies from Kwannon’s past, like the dangerous Hand group, and new villains too.
The writer, Alyssa Wong, seems really passionate about the character and her story. They pointed out how even though Kwannon’s life has been so tragic, she still picks to be a hero instead of a villain. That’s what I love about superheroes – they keep fighting for what’s right even when it’s hard. This series sounds like it will be full of surprises but also really insightful about who Kwannon is.
Psylocke has always been complicated in the X-Men world. I think this new comic on November 13th is going to help us understand her even better. With 13 X-Men series going now, it’s clear that people can’t get enough of these mutants! I can’t wait to see what’s next for Psylocke.
