Channing Tatum was able to bring the mutant Gambit to life on the big screen after all. In a recently released deleted scene from the blockbuster superhero film “Deadpool & Wolverine,” viewers see Tatum’s Gambit walking away unharmed after a climactic battle sequence.
The intense battle featured many surprise cameos from Marvel characters. It included appearances from Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Wesley Snipes as Blade, and Dafne Keen reprising her role as X-23. However, the theatrical version of the film left uncertainty around which characters may have survived.
This deleted scene, shared by director Ryan Reynolds on social media, confirms Tatum’s Gambit made it through okay. Gambit is known for his mutant abilities like kinetic energy manipulation and staff fighting. He also has a charming smile and personality that fans love.

Tatum had been slated to star in a standalone Gambit movie for years. But when Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, those plans were halted. Getting to play Gambit in “Deadpool & Wolverine” was especially meaningful for Tatum.
In an Instagram post after the movie, Tatum expressed deep gratitude toward Reynolds for advocating to include Gambit. Reynolds fought for the character and role that Tatum seemed born to play. Reynolds said including legacy characters like Gambit was as important as introducing new heroes.
While there are no announcements yet about Gambit’s future, his survival teases more appearances. Tatum delivered a performance that excited fans and left them wanting to see more of the card-throwing mutant.
