The popular Indian web series “Taaza Khabar” is set to return for its second season on September 27, 2024. The Disney+ Hotstar show follows the life of Vasant Gawde, portrayed by YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, and his mysterious new abilities.
The upcoming season will delve deeper into how Vasya’s secret power impacts his relationships and life. Actor Bhuvan Bam said he connected strongly with his character, stating “Vasya reflects parts of my own life.” Bam will reprise his lead role alongside returning cast members Shriya Pilgaonkar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Deven Bhojani, Shilpa Shukla, Prathamesh Parab, and Nitya Mathur.
Series director Himank Gaur and writers Hussain Dalal and Abbas Dalal will also return. Rohit Raj, producer through BB Ki Vines Productions, described the show’s vision as a “rags-to-riches journey with a Mumbai twist.” The first season garnered international attention through a Global Breakout award from Deadline magazine in 2024.
Bam recently revealed a new song for the upcoming season produced in collaboration with renowned lyricist Swanand Kirkire. “Working with Swanand sir is a dream come true,” said Bam of the musical partnership. With its blend of drama, action and local setting, producers aim to once again captivate audiences with Vasya’s evolving story when season two premieres this September exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.
