Alphonse Harding seeks a quiet life in the forest after leaving behind his years as an elite operative, but past sins will not stay buried. The covert group he once served, the Covert Operations Initiative, knows no bounds in their pursuit to bring Harding back under their control. And so the hunted becomes the hunter in I Am Your Beast, a fast-paced first-person shooter from Strange Scaffold.

Players step into Harding’s boots as he’s forced to engage in a campaign of vengeance. With the COI destroying his home and stepping up their efforts to capture him, Harding has no choice but to eradicate the continuous forces sent his way. And so the game plunges you immediately into its namesake—a brutal beast unleashed. Each of the game’s compact levels tasks you with eliminating all enemies within its boundaries before making your escape.

Guiding you through this sprint is Alphonse Harding, a man forged by his brutal past but still seeking to leave violence in his wake. His is a troubled soul, reluctant to reengage with his murderous skills yet equally unwilling to submit to the COI. This nuanced take on the protagonist lingers even amidst the pulse-pounding combat. How the developers have blended this thoughtful thread of story with energetic, responsive gameplay is at the heart of what makes I Am Your Beast a memorable blast.

Survival of the fittest

Alphonse Harding seeks a quiet life in the forest but finds his past lingering in the form of the Covert Operations Initiative. We learn Harding devoted years to this shadowy group as one of their deadliest operatives, only wanting escape when his time in the field had taken its toll. Now retired from that world of violence, he aims to keep to himself—yet the COI has other plans.

Led by the ambitious Burkin, Harding’s former boss, the COI refuses to let one of their most prized weapons depart without a fight. Desperate to bring Harding back into the fold, Burkin sends squad after squad to retrieve their wayward agent, escalating the conflict when Harding proves resistant. Though pragmatic, Burkin shows a cunning side by manipulating Harding’s loyalty from their time serving together, appealing to his soldier’s instincts.

Between levels, cutscenes utilize gripping radio dialogues as Harding and Burkin parry words, their clash of wills growing tenser as the body count rises. Though scenes, we see Burkin won’t relent in his mission, while Harding seeks an honorable end to their power struggle. Environments like snowy forests serve as a picturesque backdrop, hints of Harding and Burkina’s intertwined past emerging.

The cast shines through stellar voice work. From Harding’s resolve to Burkin’s zealous commands, each line resonates with character. While we never lay eyes on these figures, their personalities come to the fore. Most impressive is the vulnerability conveyed in Harding’s lone interaction outside these power players, displaying a soul-weathered yet clinging to forgotten gentleness underneath scars. I Am Your Beast utilizes both story and sound to captivate its audience against all odds.

Brutal Balance

I Am Your Beast wastes no time throwing players into blistering first-person combat. With fists empty, survival relies entirely on scavenging the fallen. Each vanquished foe drops their firearm—grabbing a mid-air revolver before the next attack feels as gratifying as it is hair-raising. Ammo lasts only until spent, forcing fluid transitions between purloined pistols.

I Am Your Beast Review

Agility proves just as essential. Harding scales trees with nimble leaps, silently stalking from above. Below, he zips between trunks in a blur. Well-timed slides let bullets slip past, while plunging atop enemies induces swift blackouts. Levels flow like dual tutorials, strengthening both marksmanship and maneuvering in a thrill.

Forest arenas test these skills to the limit. Enemy placements demand split-second decisions; one wrong move spells a gruesome end. Objectives like sabotage operate against the clock, imbuing missions with a racing pulse. Success hinges on optimization—shaving paths becomes an art as performance refines.

Microlevel evaluation runs through rankings from C to S. Yet scores matter less than the enthralling dance of death. Optional modifiers spice routines by restricting tools or tweaking targets. Mastery arises from practice, recalling terrain and techniques to continually better dangerous choreography.

Later stages match improving demons. Harding faces grievous injury, powering through pain to survive relentless assault. Slow health drain strains preservation of both body and bullets. Environments shift too, introducing innovative protection and hazards that preserve suspense. Formidable difficulty signifies a beast approaching his peak.

I Am Your Beast encourages players to equalize their protagonist through balanced, velocity-fueled combat. Forests foster fluid firearm theatrics and acrobatic evasion that engross completely. Its brilliance lies in cultivating both butchery and finesse into a perfect, pulsating storm.

Survival of the Fittest

No two stages of the hunt play out the same in I Am Your Beast. Levels shuffle locales like snow-blanketed forests to craft distinct killer crucibles. Objectives weave innovations that inspire fresh strategies—some tasks see you sabotaging antennas or healing wounds in a frenzy. Enemy layouts and terrain spawn endless scenarios, necessitating fluid adaptation to sandboxes of escalating complexity.

I Am Your Beast Review

As you progress, inimical forces change too. Early adversaries yield to reinforced troops, snipers, bombers, and beasts. Terrain also mutates, bearing new protections or penalties that maintain suspense album to album. Scale inches toward implausible, flinging believability out the blizzard and replacing it with improbable entertainment.

Mastery unlocks darker diversions. Optional “Baba Yaga” trials twist conventions, limiting approaches or altering targets. Experiments require dedicated runs, teaching new skills or testing existing ones. Rewards include not just scores but life beyond the saga—bonus realms practically doubling content for those craving to extend the hunt.

Strange Scaffold craft cada level with care. Distinct goals, evolving antagonists, and increasingly imaginative constraints within every micro-stage revive tension without repetition. Emergent stories spring from each sandbox as you impact it, ensuring no two lifetimes bag equal bounty or meet equal ends amid the ever-shifting theater of red snow. Survival proves you’ve solved one performance, while ratings inspire replays to perfect an art of violence.

Blood and Snow

I Am Your Beast couples visual splendor with mechanical clarity. Vibrant crimson contrasts starkly against whiteness, lending each killbox a comic book charm. Within this stylized setting, not a single element feels arbitrarily placed—every texture and effect enhances the sense of a winter wonderland twisted toward slaughter.

I Am Your Beast Review

Information appears only when crucial, slipping away after use to keep immersion intact. Health, ammo, and objectives occupy opposite screen corners yet remain subtle presences. Atmospheric voicework and a propulsive score heighten every massacre while never overshadowing on-location audio cues.

Strange Scaffold crafted the game determined to let skill outweigh specs. Lean builds across all systems showcase superb optimization, maintaining constant mobility no matter the platform. Customizable options ensure comfort, with sliders fine-tuning visuals and responses for varied needs.

Accessibility takes priority without compromising Harding’s hunter fantasy. Colorblind, motion-sensitive, and hearing-impaired gamers face no barriers alongside those seeking graphic intensity reduction. Controls adapt seamlessly to any controller or keyboard, putting carnage in all hands.

Across technical feats and artistic flair, I Am Your Beast presents a cohesive vision where viewers become the apex animal in vivid, dependably smooth sessions that leave little room for distraction from the dedicated display of lethality.

Relentless Hunt

I Am Your Beast ensures the chase never ends, whether tracking personal bests or vying with the world. Each forest invite returns through rankings from C to S, every run chiseling method, and trimming times. Seasoned rivals optimize routes like crafted dances, fluidly felling foes between wallruns in seamless sequences.

I Am Your Beast Review

Mastery unlocks darker diversions, perfect for speedrun showdowns. “Baba Yaga” trials cultivate unique tactics under limiting constraints. Succeeding grants bragging rights, failing experimentation to expand one’s repertoire.

Beyond the core escape lies a wealth of side content. Dozens of bonus levels and challenges akin to downloadable expansions dot further experiences for those hungering for fresh hunts. Cryptic secrets possibly hinting at further reward keep the curiosity whet.

Online logs eternally pit times against friends and strangers. Climbing the boards inspires continuous practice. Beating records sparks replay far beyond the conclusion, refining skills until none rival mastery over this lethal stage.

Few factors fortify a game’s lifespan, like optimal difficulty and competition. I Am Your Beast ensures both, constantly sharpening even the deadliest of players until none remain who can claim the title of the true beast. Its worlds welcome all toward relentless improvement, wherever the path may lead.

No Rest for the Wicked

I Am Your Beast offers little respite, its short but brutal tale propelling players relentlessly toward its climax. Pacing prevents plot from penetrating too deep, while arena variety could stand more twists between skirmishes.

I Am Your Beast Review

Still, Strange Scaffold achieves their aim of fusing fluid first-person mayhem with just enough thread to keep interest piqued till the finish. Within tight confines, they craft compelling combat, nurturing skills through restarts that feel more like replays. Buildings on this foundation, the studio could elevate their concepts toward fuller realizations even now lurking just out of Harding’s grasp.

For speedrunning shooters done dirt cheap, I Am Your Beast proves a reliable fix. Controls tuned for constant motion immerse in frantic forest fantasies where survival depends on pilfered pistols as much as precision. Repetitions renew enjoyment instead of wearing welcome. Bonuses beyond the story ensure value multiplies for those hungering for ever more challenging prey.

Minor qualms fade against frenetic fun. This Beast gets its claws deep, unrelenting momentum carrying through flaws on a tide of Twitch gameplay. Strange Scaffold demonstrates a knack for wringing greatness from limitations, crafting concise experiences that lingered lively in this player’s memory long after fleeing its snowbound battlegrounds for the last time.

The Review

I Am Your Beast

8 Score

I Am Your Beast slices straight to unrelenting action, its stripped-down story and style allowing lightning-fast gameplay to shine. Strange Scaffold develops a formative first-person formula here, laying the groundwork for greater depth while honing in on what already works. Through constant replays, this beast sinks its claws deep as players wrestle with progression—and find that as rewards come graded goals and whole new hunting grounds to master. Tight budgets constrain scope but likewise focus creative talents on kinetic combat mechanics and challenge. Overall, I Am Your Beast delivers a pure and positively pulpy package well worth the affordable asking price for its pulsating and consistently replayable brand of violence.

PROS
