Alexandra Daddario and Finn Wittrock have been cast in Hershey, a biographical film about chocolate magnate Milton Hershey. The project is directed by Mark Waters and is set to begin filming in May, with a release planned for 2026.
Wittrock will portray Milton Hershey. Daddario has been cast as Kitty Hershey, his wife. The production will include on-location work in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The screenplay is by Sharon Paul and Timothy Michael Hayes. Producers include Paul, Mark Tilghman for Dandelion Media, Mary Aloe for Aloe Entertainment, Daniel Hank, and Will Hardy. Financing partners are Josh Harris and Joanne Marlowe.
Waters described the project as centered on the relationship between Milton and Kitty Hershey. He noted that the story will address the founding of the Milton Hershey School and the couple’s activities in building a community around their company. Waters previously directed Mean Girls and Freaky Friday.
According to the studio, Dandelion Media will incorporate materials from the Hershey Company’s historical archives. The company stated that filming will mark the first on-screen use of these archival resources.
The Hershey Company is supporting the project. President and CEO Michele Buck said the film will explore how the Hersheys’ business decisions intersected with their creation of public infrastructure, including transportation systems, entertainment venues, and community services.
