20th Century Studios has announced that Predator: Killer of Killers, an animated anthology directed by Dan Trachtenberg and Josh Wassung, will debut June 6 on Hulu and Disney+. The film is the second of two Predator projects slated for release in 2025.
The story features three separate episodes set in distinct time periods. The characters include a Viking raider on a revenge mission with her son, a ninja who confronts his brother in feudal Japan, and a World War II pilot investigating an unidentified threat during an Allied mission. Each narrative centers on a confrontation with a Predator.
Trachtenberg developed the story with Micho Robert Rutare, who also wrote the script. Animation is produced by The Third Floor, where Wassung is based. The production uses an anthology format to depict warriors from different cultures and timelines facing the same opponent.
Trachtenberg previously directed Prey, a 2022 installment in the Predator franchise that introduced an 18th-century Comanche protagonist. The film premiered on Hulu and drew attention for its period setting and character focus. Following that release, 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell confirmed that Trachtenberg proposed additional projects, two of which moved forward.
In addition to Killer of Killers, Trachtenberg also directed Predator: Badlands, a live-action feature set to premiere in theaters on November 7. That film stars Elle Fanning, who appeared at CinemaCon last week to present footage. During the event, Fanning described her character as working alongside a Predator rather than fighting against one.
Killer of Killers was first mentioned by Asbell in 2023 as a then-untitled project. The trailer was released Tuesday.
