2K Games has recently confirmed that Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the highly anticipated turn-based strategy game developed by Firaxis Games, will not be released on Nintendo Switch.
The game was initially launched in December of last year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. However, it was indefinitely delayed on all other platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.
Although it was previously announced that the game would be available on the Nintendo Switch platform “later,” no specific release date was given at the time.
Unfortunately, 2K Games has now announced that Marvel’s Midnight Suns on Nintendo Switch is “no longer planned,” but no explanation has been provided for this decision.
One possible factor that may have influenced this decision is the underwhelming sales performance of the game on current generation consoles and PC.
Despite the high expectations of the North American publisher, the game failed to meet projected sales numbers on these platforms.
On the other hand, players who own a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can still look forward to the upcoming launch of Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The game will be available in digital format from May 11, along with its fourth and final post-launch DLC, titled Bloodstorm.
This DLC will introduce Storm as a playable character and include new story missions. The developers have promised players who successfully complete all of the DLC missions, including those for Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm, a final surprise in the form of a battle against an ancient monster.
