10 Epic Battlefield 2042 Moments

Get ready for some wow moments of Battlefield series!

Battlefield™ moment: a surprising and incredibly dramatic scene within a game that is experienced through the eyes but which cannot be adequately processed in the brain because it cannot be compared to reality. Most often results in acoustic manifestation of wow or WTF sounds over the primary communication channels. Taking its name from the popular first person shooter series Battlefield, known for a multitude of such moments.

This is admittedly not in the dictionary (yet), but still, the crazy events and possibilities of the Battlefield series are something of a cult among gamers and is one of the most important reasons to check out 2042 again. For this reason, we’ve put together ten Battlefield moments for you.

The Return of the RendeZook Maneuver

The Return of the RendeZook Maneuver

We start with a totally exaggerated Battlefield classic that has made its return in 2042. You fly around in your jet and are being chased. A logical consequence is to pull the plane up at a 90-degree angle, catapult it into the fresh air with your bazooka at the ready, shoot away enemies and get back into the falling plane.

You can see this maneuver, dubbed RendeZook, again in the Reveal trailer, which was actually first performed by the player ZookaMan in Battlefield 1942, and subsequently copied and refined many times in other parts of the series. You won’t find a more beautiful choreography in synchronized tornado jumping.

The Game World as a Weapon

The Battlefield game has always been well known for its accurate destruction model. You can creatively repurpose many objects and vehicles in the game world and use them to crush parts of buildings or opponents. You can, for example, make an all-terrain vehicle collide with a helicopter in the air or attach some explosives to a drone, which you can then steer into an enemy hideout. There are lots of ways to use the game world to your advantage.

Hovercraft on the Rocks

On the map “Upheaval” you go to Antarctica to a strategically important oil production point. Once destroyed, fuel tanks and silos leave behind debris fields and permanent fires. You travel on the ice with hovercrafts and tracked vehicles, providing a whole new sense of movement.

There is a radar station on a high cliff on the map, which can best be taken from the air. Anyone who controls the station has a tactical advantage, because relevant areas can be easily reached by wingsuit flight. Since the first presentation, the king penguins on the map have been among the secret stars of the area, but they will probably have no tactical relevance.

Flying Lesson in the Tornado

We”ll keep it real for the next Battlefield moment, too. Random tornadoes and sandstorms sweep across many of the maps. Those who aren’t fast enough are sucked in and can take a sightseeing flight over the war zone in a wingsuit. It is not uncommon to see firefights at a height of 50 meters.

In the Battlefield beta, Storm Chasers had already been on the lookout for these whirlwinds to explore what they could be used for in the new game world. And of course, because there’s a bit of a fairground feeling when you can do a lap in the air at top speed.

Tunnel Vision with Grapple Arm Action

Russians and Americans fight over an important cargo port in Asia on the map “Manifest”. The battle takes place in a tight maze of container platforms, which make confrontations particularly intense. In order to make it a bit more exciting, fully automatic cranes reposition individual containers on a regular basis. More strategic points include a customs station at the edge of the map, and two ships docked in the harbor.

Flying Battles Between Skyscrapers

The South Korean metropolis of Songdo has you ziplining between the skyscrapers or venturing through the steep cityscape in a helicopter or jet. “Kaleidoscope” is the very smallest of the seven maps at the start of Battlefield 2042, and the fighting takes place in the squares around the city’s legendary data center, which is responsible for coordinating 60 percent of the world’s Internet traffic. Several buildings can be entered and offer battles on several floors. This area guarantees particularly intense battles with 128 players.

Sandstorm in Qatar

Doha, the capital of Qatar, has lost the battle against the desert and is now a ghost town haunted by sandstorms. Once the sand reaches you, it will obscure the daylight and create a spooky atmosphere in which duels between soldiers and vehicles will become even more exciting. This area is extremely large and varied. Downtown there are neon-lit skyscrapers, while further out there is a gigantic soccer stadium and many highways that are perfect for car chases.

Food for the Robodog

In the year 2042, the soldier’s best friend is the robot dog Ranger. Whenever you need reinforcements or just want to rub his belly to calm him down, he will loyally stand by your side at the push of a button. He supports you with his machine gun and can do simple scouting tasks. Likewise, you can equip him with C4 and turn him into a sniffing bomb.

Meeting of the Generations

The new “Battlefield™ Portal” game experience is built on unusual moments. In a comprehensive editor, you will have access to elements from the predecessors from which you can colorfully define the arsenal and victory conditions. For instance, let military soldiers with knives compete against current fighters with defibrillators in deathmatch, arrange 1-against-1 vehicle battles or compete together against bots in co-op. There are almost endless possibilities and you have access to the best creations of the community.

Good Rocket Launch, Bad Rocket Launch

On the “Orbital” map you will find yourself on a launch pad of a carrier rocket, which is meant to carry satellites into space. The launch may be successful or the rocket may explode after only a few meters of flight above the ground, all depending on the course of the game and the way the rocket is handled.

Being there is worthwhile in any case: you not only get to experience a phenomenal event up close, but friends and enemies are also attracted by the light and gather for a showdown with a picturesque backdrop. With a little skill, you can also land on top of the rocket.
