Gamescom 2022: Lack of Sony and Co. Won’t Be Noticed

Because other companies have some great hits for this year’s show!

As we all know, Gamescom 2022 will be missing several big names such as Sony Interactive Entertainment, Nintendo and Activision Blizzard. According to those responsible at THQ Nordic, however, this will not be a major issue.

Following Gamescom’s digital-only format over the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year Europe’s leading trade show for video games is returning to the public.

The joy of gamers and players was not to last long, however. Rather, the announcements of absences of the major players such as Sony Interactive Entertainment, Nintendo and Activision Blizzard in recent days and weeks have caused long faces in the gaming community. However, many people believe that this will not have an effect on the importance of Gamescom.

No impact on the status of Gamescom

While Sony and Nintendo will have their reasons, some believe this might be because they are currently lacking exciting games, maybe there are still taking company-wide Corona protection measures or anything else.

This may sound like a letdown to attendees at first, though the numerous other companies exhibiting will definitely present top-notch hits, so the absence of Sony, Nintendo and the others won’t be a big deal in the end

What do you think about these? Will the absence of Sony, Nintendo and Activision Blizzard have a negative effect on this year’s Gamescom in Germany? Let us know in the comments section below.
