The release of Marvel movies has been going on for a few months. Since the last December, we were able to discover feature films like The Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home or Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. More recently, it was Thor: Love and Thunder’s turn to make its debut in theaters.
The list of Marvel movies still to be released this year includes Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This movie will be released in theaters on November 11. But unfortunately, it will be without King T’Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman, and with good reason!
Will Shuri be taking over?
The heritage of King T’Challa will be continued by Shuri and Okoye. They will still be played by Letitia Wright and Danai Gurira respectively. The two actresses have recently unveiled a new promotional image of the film.
On it, Okoye is dressed in her usual costume of Dora Milaje. As for Shuri, she is wearing a new outfit. The change in her outfit has sparked discussions about the succession of King T’Challa.
Is Shuri the new Black Panther?
Ever since the unveiling of Black Panther 2, a theory has emerged that Shuri is the new Black Panther. After seeing the image that was recently posted on the MCU Facility Twitter account, the fans are even more convinced.

In the picture, Shuri is dressed in a purple jumpsuit. Purple is a reminder of King T’Challa’s outfit. But this is not the most interesting thing for the fans. They believe that this costume change is also a change of role for Shuri. If their theory is to be believed, it would mean that King T’Challa’s sister will become the new Black Panther.
Given that the Black Panther costume is passed down through the royal lineage, it would only make sense that Shuri is next in line to wear it. Furthermore, it is rumored that Black Panther 2 will mainly focus on the story of the latter.
