A recent job posting by Bungie indicates that the software house which is now part of PlayStation Studios is apparently at work on a new project related to the Destiny universe. First reports suggest that the studio is in the process of creating a title specifically designed for competitive multiplayer.
This job announcement appeared on Bungie’s website and is targeted at a new Senior Concept Artist. According to the description issued by the software house, the applicant will work on “a wide range of game elements such as firearms, characters, armor, vehicles, environments, and other seasonal artistic needs.”
In addition, the information provided says that the candidate will be in charge of the ongoing evolution of the “aesthetics of the Destiny universe,” which is a detail that confirms to us that the project is related to the well-known Sci-Fi franchise.
Also interesting to note is that the studio very much appreciates any “experience and passion for competitive games,” hinting at a particular focus on competitive PvP.
“As Concept Artist, you will work on everything from exploring character design and iconography to proposing visual solutions for world-building. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, dedicated and passionate interdisciplinary team committed to bringing a new game to life!”
This will hardly be a full-fledged Destiny 3, though this project could potentially go hand-in-hand with the next numbered iteration of the series, thereby splitting the PvE and PvP components.
Or, more mundanely, Bungie intends to significantly revamp and expand PvP by attaching more focus to the competitive aspect of the next game.
At this time, however, these are only mere speculations and it will be wise to wait for future official updates from the studio.
