More News About Star Wars KotOR: The Remake Is Apparently in Development by a New Studio

Well, this is some good news for the fans of the game.

Star Wars KotOR

Dark clouds have been gathering over the remake of the acclaimed Knights of the Old Republic in the past weeks. Development of the game was to be stopped, and the future of the game was in doubt. Now, however, there has been a light at the end of the tunnel.

There had been talk in recent months of Aspyr Media stopping production, and certain studio employees believed that Saber Interactive would be taking over the project.

The owner of both companies, Embracer Group, has confirmed today a reshuffle related to a certain major production, while no specific title was mentioned:

“One of the Group’s AAA projects has moved to another studio inside the Group.” – the company reported. – “This was done in order to set the quality bar for this title high enough. We do not expect any significant delays related to this transition.”

The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is probably in question. The production, originally announced last September, was expected to hit PC and PS5 at the end of this year.

However, because of internal problems of the producer, the game will almost certainly not be developed on the planned date. It is currently speculated that we will not see it before 2025.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KotOR) is an RPG set in the Star Wars universe, which was released in 2003. Developed by cult studio Bioware, the title garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews and is still regarded as one of the best games under the Star Wars franchise.
