Rockstar officially confirmed that they were working on GTA 6 after a long time. There’s still no specific release date, yet fans have discovered at least a release year on the IMDb movie database page.
Rockstar Games can’t or won’t answer the question of when GTA 6 will be released – and they are not even giving an approximate date. The IMDb movie database, though, now notes the year 2025, what sounds quite realistic.
Sadly, the website doesn’t reveal on which base they have given this year, and so it’s also hard to say whether this is real insider knowledge.
It is not surprising that Rockstar Games is still holding back with exact information about GTA 6. The studio was still faced so much chaos in recent years.
For instance, the story of the game is said to have been completely changed after Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser left the company due to disagreements.
In an article published by NeoGAF, the prequel GTA 5 is even called “the most chaotic project” Rockstar has managed so far.
During the recent months, Insiders have repeatedly surfaced with knowledge about the upcoming game, resulting in numerous negative, as well as positive rumors.

This is not the first time that an insider claims to know when GTA 6 will actually be released. The insider Tez2 has also joined in and published the claim that Rockstar would reveal the release of the upcoming GTA game through an in-game event.
If it is true, we are talking about the Halloween event in GTA Online. UFOs are supposed to be placed in the game sixteen days before Halloween, which are then supposed to be replaced by a camouflage UFO on October 23.
Users believe that this is a hint to the date. This theory even receives encouragement on Reddit, as the theory is based on a screenshot of a house with a UFO.
As the house does not exist in GTA 5, many think that this is the first screenshot from GTA 6. Here, insider Tez2 counts 1 and 1 together – but, as many rumors before, it sounds very unlikely. We’ll keep you up to date.
