The Calisto Protocol Will Be Running at 60 Fps on Consoles, Developers Reassure Fans

A number of new games run exclusively at 30 FPS, and this has raised concerns about the performance of The Callisto Protocol. The developers, however, have some good news.

With reports of Gotham Knights and A Plague Tale: Requiem, both running at just 30 frames per second on next-generation consoles, The Callisto Protocol’s developers have chosen to reassure fans. The space horror game will be getting a performance mode that will enable gameplay at 60 FPS.

Striking Distance Studio, meanwhile, also confirmed the release date, which is planned for December 2 this year. There were earlier rumors that the game was going to score a delay for next year.

All because of a typo, or actually a “number”, on The Callisto Protocol’s page in the Epic Games Store, where for a brief moment the date was February 12, 2023.

While fans were quick to notice the entry and started sharing concerns online, it was a simple mistake, with the developers assuring the game will be debuting as planned. This typo on the Epic Games Store was also corrected quickly, so we are unlikely to worry about any delays.

The Callisto Protocol is a sci-fi survival horror game. Its action will take us to a penal colony on the moon of Callisto, where we have to fight for survival against disgusting monsters.

Developed by a team partly made up of former employees of Visceral Games, namely the authors of Dead Space, the game is characterized by a similar level of brutality as the aforementioned game.
