Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is finally going to get an update prepared with next-generation consoles in mind. Developers promise quite a lot, of course, though how much will they actually deliver to impatient players?
It was announced late last month that The Witcher would get a remake on Unreal Engine 5. Eager to check it out is unlikely to be in short supply, but there’s a long way to go before release.
Far earlier, but after quite a bit of slippage, we’ll be able to check out the refreshed version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It finally lived to see a trailer, but it is difficult to describe it as satisfying to any gamer.
There were even opinions among you in the comments that it would be nice on the developers’ part if they were tempted to make a before-after comparison.
So far, it seems that they do not plan to do so, but they were bailed out rather quickly. An interesting material appeared on the Open Surprise channel.
Although it is inappropriate to form a definitive opinion based on it, it gives a better picture of what changes have been made.

Had the CD Projekt RED team succeeded in realizing the original plans, the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would have flexed its muscles on the next generation of consoles (and PC) for a long time. The discussed update will be free, but for the owners of the game. Anybody still doesn’t have it?
