Death Stranding 2 To Provide Next-Gen Characters Thanks to MetaHuman

We may receive new information about Death Stranding 2 this week. While Hideo Kojima announced the celebration of the Japanese studio’s 7th birthday, thanks to the latest footage of the project we know that developers are using new technology to develop the game.

The trailer for Death Stranding 2 is intriguing from the first moments – Hideo Kojima again invites you to a destroyed, unsettling world.

What we do know is that the team is once again using the Decima engine, solutions developed by Guerrilla Games – such titles as Killzone: Shadow Fall, Until Dawn, Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West – but production will see some changes.

Kojima Productions specialists go a step further and also reach for Epic Games’ technology developed with, for instance, Unreal Engine 5 in mind.

at the end of the trailer showing Death Stranding 2 we will come across the annotation “Powered by MetaHuman” – a state-of-the-art proposal, which allows developers to realize photorealistic character models.

We can confidently suspect that the developers are not limited by the capabilities of the previous generation, and so one of their main goals will certainly be to create the most visually refined title possible.

Death Stranding 2 will be among the first revealed items to use MetaHuman without Epic Games’ engine.

Moreover, this Friday the studio will be celebrating its 7th birthday, and on this occasion it has planned to release “some content”…. One can only hope that these will not be more goodies themed around the company’s activities, but rather new details about Death Stranding 2.

“On Friday, December 16 #KojimaProductions will celebrate its 7th anniversary!
