GQ magazine has done a feature on Dave Bautista with an exclusive interview. Once again, this actor confirmed what we’ve known for months: he is saying goodbye to the MCU and Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

– I am grateful for Drax, I love him. However, I am also relieved because it was not a fully enjoyable experience. It was difficult to play the role. The characterization process blew me away. Also, I don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy. It’s such a bit of a silly role, and I want to create more dramatic creations.
Later in the interview, he claims that working with Denis Villeneuv is an extremely important experience. Thanks to him, he is able to convince himself of his abilities on the screen.
As you might already know, they have worked together on two parts of Dune and on the set of Blade Runner 2049.
– He brings out the best in me. He sees me in a different light. He sees in me the actor I want to be. This may be something that makes me figure out how to get there.

Soon we will see him in Dune 2 – his role will be bigger than in the first part. Recently, we have seen him in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Director Rian Johnson praised his acting skills. He said that the actor is great in dramatic roles.
Also, Bautista recalls that his acting skills demonstrated in Glass Onion were praised by Javier Bardem himself, whom he starred with in Diun. This made him more confident and solidified his desire to develop in dramatic roles.
– I never wanted to be the next Rock. I want to be a damn good actor. A respected actor. I don’t care about a life in the limelight or fame. I just want to be a better actor. I want respect from others.
