After a lot of rumors and reports, the remake of Silent Hill 2 in the hands of Bloober Team turned out to be real. Community is very excited about the return of the horror saga, but some players are still worried that the Polish studio was in charge of such an important task.
Konami, for its part, fully trusts the developer, or, at least, it is suggested by the recent statements of Maciej Głomb, Bloober Team creative.
It revealed that Konami contacted several studios to make the remake a reality, but ultimately chose them. Furthermore, he claimed that at one point they thought about rejecting the project, yet in the end they accepted it for a very good reason.
Głomb is the one in charge of the project, so he is very familiar with everything that happened behind the scenes before the remake was announced.
Revealed that Konami was in talks with several studios to develop this important project, but ultimately tipped the scales in favor of Bloober Team.
“As far as I know, Konami talked to other studios about the idea of remaking Silent Hill 2. In my opinion, rightly so, because the most passionate developers should be in charge of such a game, no one else,” said the creative.
Confessed that at first they hesitated to accept the project, because he knows very well the importance of the sequel for the fans and for the industry in general.
In spite of this, however, decided to do it since they were filled with enthusiasm when Konami chose them. So they work to meet the expectations.
“As you can imagine, when they approached us with the offer we hesitated for a while, considering the weight of responsibility involved. At the same time, we couldn’t imagine anyone else doing the remake besides us; we were sure that we will do everything in our power to give it the treatment it deserves. In retrospect, it was a good decision,” Głomb concluded.
