No one does open-world games with countless map markers quite like Ubisoft. However, this time, the French gaming giant has some delightful surprises in store for us.

The Ubisoft Forward 2023 event showcased an impressive lineup of games, ranging from an Avatar first-person shooter to a Star Wars remake. Let’s dive into the trailers and explore all the exciting games that Ubisoft unveiled at the event.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora emerged as one of the highlights of the showcase. This first-person shooter transports players to the mesmerizing world of Avatar, where they assume the role of a Na’vi warrior. Drawing inspiration from the renowned Far Cry series, the game embarks players on a thrilling quest to reclaim their ancestral lands from the clutches of malevolent forces.

Brace yourself for intense archery battles, explosive rocket launchers, and the exhilarating experience of soaring through the skies atop the majestic flying creatures from the movie.

XDefiant

Another notable title showcased was XDefiant, a highly anticipated network shooter that has generated significant buzz within the gaming community. Players will soon have the chance to experience the game firsthand during its pre-release version, available for free from June 21 to June 23. Whether you play on PlayStation 5, PC, or Xbox Series X/S, get ready for hours of intense multiplayer action and adrenaline-pumping battles.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Fans of the original Prince of Persia were in for a treat with the announcement of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. This latest installment of the beloved platforming series takes a nostalgic approach, paying homage to its roots. While the release is slated for January 2024, fans eagerly awaiting the return of the Prince can expect an enthralling platforming experience that captures the essence of the original games.

The Division Resurgence

Ubisoft also unveiled The Division Resurgence, a free mobile spin-off of the popular series. While the materials showcased in the presentation seemed promising, some concerns were raised about potential performance issues. Nonetheless, fans of The Division will be eager to dive into this new mobile experience and continue their journey in the post-pandemic world.

Skull and Bones

Skull and Bones, a game that has become somewhat of a meme due to its long development and frequent release date delays, still keeps players waiting for its official release date. However, Ubisoft has offered a glimmer of hope with the announcement of a beta version. From August 25 to 28, interested players will have the opportunity to experience the pirate-themed adventure and satisfy their cravings for high-seas action.

The Crew Motorfest

Rev your engines for The Crew Motorfest, the highly anticipated third installment of the series that boldly challenges the Forza Horizon franchise. Scheduled for release on September 14, racing enthusiasts can look forward to an adrenaline-fueled experience. Additionally, a closed beta will be available from July 21 to 23, allowing players to get a taste of the thrilling open-world racing game before its official launch.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR

Ubisoft showcased their foray into virtual reality with Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR. The trailer teased exciting possibilities as the game ventures into unexplored territories of virtual reality. Set to appear on the Meta Quest 2 platform, players will have the chance to embody characters from the early Assassin’s Creed games and embark on a virtual journey through history.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Fans of the Assassin’s Creed series were treated to a glimpse of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The game’s footage showcased dazzling moments that capture the essence of the original series, though there were moments where it resembled a mobile spin-off. While there is still much to be revealed, fans can anticipate a return to the atmospheric world that first captivated them in the early Assassin’s Creed titles.

Star Wars Outlaws

Undoubtedly the biggest announcement from Ubisoft this year, Star Wars Outlaws has already garnered attention as the “GTA in the world of Star Wars.” The trailer showcased proper gameplay and gave a glimpse of the expansive open world where players will confront the might of the Empire. Fans eagerly awaiting this ambitious project can expect an epic adventure set in the beloved Star Wars universe.

In conclusion, Ubisoft Forward 2023 brought forth a diverse and exciting range of games that captured the imagination of gamers worldwide. From the breathtaking world of Avatar to the long-awaited return of Prince of Persia, Ubisoft showcased their commitment to delivering thrilling experiences across various genres. Fans can eagerly anticipate the upcoming releases and immerse themselves in these captivating virtual worlds.
