Fans of the classic first-person shooter, Rise of the Triad, have been eagerly awaiting the release of its updated version, the Ludicrous Edition, on consoles.
However, New Blood Entertainment, the company behind the game, has recently revealed that the console versions of the game will be delayed indefinitely.
Certification Problems Cause Setback
Dave Oshry, the CEO of New Blood Entertainment, addressed the delay and shed some light on the reason behind it. He mentioned that the delay was due to “some certification problems with (stupid things) on the console.”
Though the specifics were not detailed, it appears that certain issues with the console certification process are responsible for pushing back the release.
Collaboration with Nightdive Studios
Nightdive Studios, renowned for their expertise in reviving classic games for modern platforms, played a significant role in the development of Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition.
The collaboration between New Blood Entertainment and Nightdive Studios aimed to bring an enhanced and updated version of the beloved first-person shooter to new audiences.
Thankfully, not all is lost for fans who have been waiting to revisit the classic shooter. The PC version of Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition remains on track and is set to launch on schedule. PC gamers can look forward to getting their hands on the game via Steam and GOG starting July 31.
