The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has unveiled a new listing that’s caught our attention: ‘Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition.’ The PC game is described as an “action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a reporter accompanied by a pig-like companion investigating a conspiracy on the planet of Hillys.”
This description aligns perfectly with what Beyond Good and Evil is known for. It feels like the right time for a return, and the pieces are falling into place. Earlier this year, a new rating for Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption hinted at its re-release, and indeed, it came true (although only for consoles). Could the ESRB listing be an indication of Beyond Good and Evil’s re-launch, possibly with updated visuals and modern touches? We can only hope.

Ubisoft has assured PCGamesN that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in the works, so there’s no reason to fret just yet. Patience is key, as these projects take time to shape and perfect.
