The medieval battlefield of “Chivalry 2” has just expanded with the release of the Reclamation update, which introduces a host of new content for players to dive into. The centerpiece of the update is “The Reclamation of Montcrux,” a new team objective map designed for 64 players, where the Agathian knights mount an assault against the Tenosian Empire’s stronghold.
This map promises a dynamic and challenging experience as the Agathians must breach the fortress walls, survive a barrage of ballista fire, and dismantle the bombards to reclaim the fortress for their faction.
In addition to the new map, the update brings a quirky limited-time mode called “Last Peasant Standing.” In this mode, players take on the role of peasants caught in a feud, scrambling for whatever weapons they can find to survive through multiple rounds. The goal is to be the last team standing after five rounds to claim victory.
The arsenal of “Chivalry 2” also gets a boost with the introduction of the Siege Crossbow. This new weapon, available for the Crossbowman subclass, is a heavy-duty option capable of dealing significant damage to siege weapons and constructs, as well as piercing through enemy barricades. However, its considerable power comes with a trade-off in terms of reload time and limited shots, requiring players to make each bolt count.
Players can also test their mettle in a new free-for-all map set in the Tenosian desert, where knights fight for glory in individual combat. Alongside these additions, the Reclamation update includes a new progression-based Campaign Pass named “Reclamation,” which offers a variety of rewards such as new armors, weapon skins, and heraldry.
The update underscores “Chivalry 2’s” commitment to providing a fun and unique multiplayer experience, as noted in TheSixthAxis’s review, which praises the game’s melee combat and the thrilling nature of its large-scale battles.
